The photography and thoughts of Melissa Williams. "The purpose of rhythm, it has always seemed to me, is to prolong the moment of contemplation, the moment when we are both asleep and awake, which is the one moment of creation, by hushing us with an alluring monotony, while it holds us waking by variety, to keep us in that state of perhaps real trance, in which the mind liberated from the pressure of the will is unfolded in symbols."-- W. B. Yeats
These were taking at one of the most incredible houses in the Boca Raton area. Among the mixed tiled walls and stairs is a large tree which snakes throughout the courtyard in the center. The branches stretch through the roof and walls and even rest upon columns at some places. The house was built around this magnificent tree. It is one of the few remaining relics, built in the 1920s as mansion. It then served, as an inn and a French restaurant. Now this treasure is to be remodeled and, to my dismay, into more shops and offices.
